Congratulations go to Claire Goodey from Broadstairs and Carol Crabb from Palm Bay in East Kent. These remarkable ladies completed the Deal Tri 5 Mile Run on Sunday 4th November on behalf of KCT .... and in the staggering time of 42 minutes. They were to be joined by Fiona Wendhott who was also planning to run, but as she has recently given birth, felt it may be best to wait for another occasion. However Fiona has been very active securing sponsorship for Claire and carol and between them all they raised an incredible £450.00. This event means that Kent Cancer Trust have now raised in excess of £60,000.
Four months ago, Julie Sharman, pictured here, decided to improve her overall fitness by swimming regularly .. just a few lengths a day ... then she heard about the Kent Cancer Trust from our fundraiser Stuart Minty and pledged sponsorship to us, by offering to swim an incredible 80 lengths. That is the equivalent of one mile!. In the process she raised a staggering £215.00. Julie trained for months building up her endurance and completed the 80 lengths in August of this year. An awesome achievement that has inspired us all .... Thank you Julie.
Two Chimneys staff and guests have worked tirelessly to support us. In an incredibly generous offer the owners agreed to double the money raised in their fundraising activities between June and July. Pictured (left) with Stuart Minty receiving a cheque for £1440.00 are owners Michael and Andrew Godden and sister Linda Sullivan along with some of the trailer owners who organised a sponsored walk. Their outstanding efforts are very much appreciated by everyone at the charity.
